Author's Note: Written for the ncis_flashfic challenge "poetry." The lack of capitalization is for aesthetic purposes; it's how I write the majority of my poetry, so please keep that in mind. Also, it is very much free verse, which is also how I write most of my poetry.

the mysteries of a heart

she is beauty, danger, purity
and she does not know
how to handle her heart;
she understands the ways
of guns or knives, bombs,
even, yet love is foreign
as her skin, her native
soil, her way of life.
when she finds herself
entranced in a man, perhaps
one lady, there are sides
revealed, secret windows
opened, and she blinks,
tears in her eyes, from light,
naivete, flooding in, reducing
her strength, causing questions
to arise in her organized mind.
she worries, to a passionate
degree, about her object
tion to the notion of love,
why her mind is not more
like another woman’s mind
(consumed by the desire
to be in the arms of another,
that is exactly the emotion
she is searching for) – but
it is not true, for she does
seek to be held, to be wanted,
to be loved by another. man,
woman, it does not matter
whom, just as long as she
can come to an understanding
with the mysteries of her
own personal casefile.

This is absolutely lovely! Sounds very Ziva...

I'm thinking you'd given me an okay to grab what struck my fancy of your stuff to put on the NCIS page over @ Frisked & Conquered, but I can't remember for sure, so I'm verifying that because I really like this...
Thank you! I love Ziva, so this was super easy and fun to write.

Yes, I did give you the okay to snag my things. Just mention what you're taking and I'll be all whoo hoo! LOL.
I *thought* so, but didn't have it included on my list of "automatic" writers to work with.

So now you're on the list with the caveat to comment on what I'm taking.

So I'll mention here that I'm snagging this one and the recent McGiva piece that made me giggle...
(First off, just responding with my regular journal b/c I'm too lazy to sign out and sign back in, lol.)

Ah, I see. Well, add my name to the list. :)

Hee, whoo hoo!
nice poem! flows in a cool way. i like writing them about NCIS too.
